Yukata Dressing Class by Illustrator Kaori Hirao
Join illustrator Kaori Hirao, known for her love of kimonos, for a "chic" yukata dressing class on Saturday, July 20th, at the event space AL in Daikanyama.

Once in Yukata, Enjoy an Evening Stroll with a Chic Drink
Kaori Hirao (www.kao-hirao.com/) is an illustrator active in book cover designs for international bestsellers like Paulo Coelho's "The Alchemist" and "Veronika Decides to Die" (Kadokawa Shoten), magazine illustrations, and advertisements. Her work is characterized by delicate lines and warm color palettes.
Her passion for bars and soba noodles led her to publish the essay "Tachinomi Sanpo" (Information Center Publishing Bureau),"Soba nomi Sanpo" (Ei Publishing)and she is also known as a kimono enthusiast with 13 years of experience. She graduated from the master's course at the "Yamashita Etsuko Kimono School" in 2005 and frequently receives kimono-related press inquiries.
Now, with her as instructor, a yukata dressing class will be held at the event space "AL" in Daikanyama. A few simple adjustments can dramatically change the look of a yukata. Hirao will share tips on yukata patterns and elegant ways to tie the obi, suitable for different ages.
After changing into yukata, the venue transforms from "Kaori Hirao's Yukata Dressing Class" to "Snack Kaori." During cocktail time, all participants will enjoy their yukata attire together with a chic drink.
Participants will receive a special yukata dressing booklet with Hirao's illustrations to help them practice at home. This summer, move beyond the standard "bunko musubi" and showcase a sophisticated yukata style with a connoisseur's touch.

What to bring | Yukata, obi, geta (wooden sandals), undergarments (hadajuban + susoyoke or Japanese-style slip; if unavailable, a camisole + petticoat), accessories (2 koshimio, 1 datejime, obi-ita, obijime). If you plan to wear your yukata home, don't forget a bag for your clothes.
