「日ごろの撮影で学んださまざまなことが、私の作品づくりの重要な原動力となっています」

撮影の現場では、つぎにやってくる季節を描き出すこともしばしばで、とくにスタジオの時間は現実よりも前のめりに進んできた。


震災のあと、それまでのさらなる未来へ、先へ先へと思いを馳せていた感覚が少なからずとも一定期間は停止した。春がきて、夏がやってくるというのに、まるですべての時間の流れが止まるがごとく、自分自身も凍てついてしまったように感じていた。


けれどそのような状況のもとにあっても、人びと・多様な生命は不安にかられながらも、しっかりと日々を生きているのはたしかで、強くしなやかにつぎの季節を待ちわびる力を備えている。


「2011 - stilllife」は、僕自身の日々の撮影のなかで、「今年」を模索する作品である。

Photography often seeks to illustrate seasons yet to come. In the studio, especially, time unfolds itself more quickly than it does in the real world outside.

But on March 11, that sensation of always rushing ahead of the times - imagining the future – were simply numbed, at least for while. Spring came and summer was just around the corner, but I found myself frozen in time, which had ceased to follow its course.

Nevertheless, people and life in its diverse forms went on living each day in anxiety, and yet firmly, preparing themselves for the season to come, powerfully and lithely.

In “2011-stilllife,” I explore “2011” through the lens of my camera in my day-to-day work.
