A Perfect Place to Discover New Books in a Relaxed, Comfortable Setting
Utrecht is owned by Hiroshi Eguchi, who is involved in various book-related activities such as organizing book fairs, directing shops, and writing. Leveraging his network of domestic and international artists, he curates books from a unique perspective, offering a selection of edgy titles including art books and zines.
The interior design of the new store was handled by product designer Hiroko Shiratori, who previously served as Creative Manager at Aesop. The expanded interior, larger than the previous Aoyama location, features wood-toned fixtures that exude a warm ambiance.
In addition to the combined bookstore "Utrecht" and gallery "NOW IDeA," as with the previous location, a new cafe space has been introduced. Units such as "L-Pack," which creates coffee-centric experiences, and "Mome" pastries offer food, aiming to be a place where communication can happen through books and food.
While accessible from Shibuya, Omotesando, and Meiji-jingumae stations, it's located in a slightly intricate area, so we recommend visiting on a stroll with a map in hand.
