33 Witty Works
The "Ricoh Photo Gallery RING CUBE" in Ginza, long a beloved spot, has been renovated and reopened as "Ricoh Imaging Square Ginza" starting August 1. On the 8th floor, the lounge-style Gallery A.W.P, which opened in April, will now feature 33 pieces by four photographers who captured the everyday life of Paris.
Featured artists include Izis (1911–1980), born in Lithuania, known for his unique poetic captures of Paris's vibrant scenes, who began his freelance career with the launch of Paris Match magazine in 1949. Also exhibiting is Philippe Halsman (born 1943), who has achieved wide acclaim not only as a photographer but also as a print artist.
The exhibition also includes select works from Jeanloup Sieff (1933–2000), who enjoyed a glamorous career with international fashion magazines such as Harper's Bazaar and Vogue, and Robert Doisneau (1912–1994), a celebrated French photographer. Each artist's distinctive wit and humor shine through in these carefully chosen photographs.
We invite you to immerse yourself in the photographic worlds of these artists who loved the streets and people of Paris, within the chic and newly transformed Gallery A.W.P, now furnished with comfortable sofas.
