Visuals by Interface Designer Yugo Nakamura
Born in France in 1939, Francis Giacobetti began his career in fashion photography in the 1960s, working with publications like 'Vogue'. His portraits of 20th-century luminaries, which have become his life's work, are housed in leading museums worldwide, including the Tate Modern in London.
Concurrently, he has photographed for 'PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE' from 1999 to 2001, and again from 2012 to the latest season. Featuring dancers as models, he has vividly captured the dynamic movement of the body and the evolving expressions of PLEATS PLEASE in response to that motion.
This exhibition presents these series, which strikingly convey the vibrancy of PLEATS PLEASE's colors and prints. Furthermore, it creates a live space, as if one is inside a prism, through visuals and sound by Yugo Nakamura and others.

Giacobetti, who continuously photographed the physical and spiritual mysteries that ultimately define human existence. And a special space where one can savor the expressive power of free forms, rich materials, and colors born from clothing. It is an exhibition well worth visiting.
